Two Firefighters From Station 26 Die In a Tragic House Fire Easter Morning

It is with great regret, and a heavy heart that we announce that we've lost two of our brothers in a house fire early Easter Sunday morning, April 12th, 2009. Captain James Harlow and Probationary Firefighter Damion Hobbs were both on Engine 26, and were first on scene to a house fire on Oak Vista. Once inside, something went wrong and they were lost to the fire.

Captain Harlow, age 50, was a 30 year veteran of the department. Firefighter Hobbs, age 29 was still on probation with this being his very first fire. Firefighter Hobbs had recently returned from two tours in Iraq.

A memorial for both firefighters was held on Thursday April 16th, at Grace Community Church - 14505 Gulf Freeway, Houston Texas.
